Coach Leo and Suunto
Suunto is the one integration that runs in both directions. Leo imports your workouts straight from your Suunto account — no Strava in the middle — and sends each planned session back to your watch as a SuuntoPlus guide, so the workout Leo wrote is the workout on your wrist. Suunto describes the integration on its own feature feed, which makes it the one data source you can verify from outside Coach Leo.
Read and write
What you need — A Suunto watch and a Suunto app account. No Strava required.
What Leo reads
- Your recorded workouts: distance, duration, pace, heart rate, elevation and cadence
- Sport type, so trail, cycling and ski sessions land in the right place in your training load
What Leo sends back
- Your planned session, as a SuuntoPlus guide — intervals, target zones and structure included
- Sent on demand from any session page, not automatically — you decide which workouts go to the watch
How the sync works
Workouts import as your watch syncs with the Suunto app. Sessions travel the other way on demand: press send on a session page, then pin the guide to your watch in the Suunto app and sync before your run.
What it does not do
- The guide reaches the watch through the Suunto app, not over the air from Leo. You need to pin it and sync once before heading out.
- Connecting Suunto replaces Strava as your activity source rather than adding to it — see the note below on why Leo reads one source at a time.
One source at a time
Leo reads one activity source at a time. Strava, Suunto, Polar and your phone's health store all carry the same workouts — a health store is fed by the same watch — so connecting a second one would duplicate every outing and leave you unable to tell which source Leo is actually reading. Switching sources takes two clicks on your connections page.
Your data
The connection is authorised through Suunto's own consent screen and can be revoked at any time. Revoking removes the workouts imported from Suunto.
Your data, already in sync.
Coach Leo starts from the runs you have actually done — not from a questionnaire. Connect your source and get a plan built on your real training.

Frequently asked questions
Can Coach Leo send a workout to my Suunto watch?
Yes. Each planned session can be pushed from its page as a SuuntoPlus guide, with intervals and target zones. Pin it in the Suunto app and sync your watch before your run.
Do I still need Strava if I have a Suunto?
No. Suunto is a full data source on its own. In fact you should pick one or the other — Leo reads a single activity source at a time.
Which watches does this cover?
Suunto watches that sync with the Suunto app and support SuuntoPlus guides. If your watch shows SuuntoPlus features in the app, session push will work.
